 Joint press conference by Greek PM Antonis Samaras and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso are holding a joint press conference on Wednesday, following a meeting between a Greek government delegation and the EUs 28-member College of Commissioners in Brussels.

Taking part in the meeting with the College besides Samaras were Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos, Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras, Development Minister Costis Hadzidakis, Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias, Merchant Marine Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis and Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas.

The meeting was part of the preparations undertaken by Greece as the country takes over the European Union rotating presidency on January 1.
