Ministry says 633 migrants returned home in March

A total of 633 migrants returned to their native countries from Greece in March according to figures released by the Public Order Ministry on Monday.

The ministry’s report pointed to 271 undocumented migrants being forced to return home after being found entering or residing in Greece without the required permit, while another 362 migrants returned to their native countries via a voluntary repatriation program developed in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The ministry said that the total number of migrants who returned to their countries of origin since August 2012 has risen to 41,510.
