Bishop Theoklitos of Ioannina dies

Greek Bishop Theoklitos of Ioannina, who died on Sunday at the age of 83, is to be buried Wednesday.

He had recently been hospitalized at the Ioannina University hospital for an unspecified illness.

Born in 1930 in Thessaloniki, Theoklitos became metropolitan bishop of Ioannina in 1975.

He had studied theology and economics and had served as a member of the board at National Bank of Greece.
