Maziotis held in secure room at Korydallos Prison infirmary

Captured terrorist Nikos Maziotis begins the week in a secure room at the Korydallos Prison infirmary after being moved there from Evangelismos Hopsital on Saturday to continue his post-operation recovery.

Maziotis was moved on his own request even though doctors advised him to remain in the hospital following his shoulder operation. The leader of the Revolutionary Struggle urban guerrilla group was shot in the shoulder during his arrest in central Athens on Wednesday.

He has been placed in a specially constructed room in the prison, which has bullet proof windows and CCTV.

On Sunday morning, five Molotov cocktails were thrown at riot squad officers near PASOK headquarters in central Athens. A post on the Indymedia website later claimed the attack was in solidarity for Maziotis. No arrests were made.
