Tsipras to meet Greek president after election win

SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras is due to meet Greek President Karolos Papoulias at 1 p.m. on Monday to discuss the outcome of Sunday's European Parliament and local elections.

Tsipras's party came out on top in the EU vote, taking 26.5 percent of the vote against 22.7 for New Democracy. The SYRIZA leader said that the results raises questions about the coalition's legitimacy.

"Respect for democracy means that people should be allowed to give their mandate as soon as possible, he said on Sunday night.
