Calm restored at Patra prison

Inmates who had been boycotting prison duties in the last few days at the Aghios Stefanos prison facilities in Patra, western Greece, resumed their designated chores on Saturday, following a visit by Deputy Justice Minister Costas Karagounis.

The latter informed inmate representatives that a proposed bill by the Justice Ministry includes measures aimed at the decongestion of overcrowded correctional facilities.
