Investors flock in for Eurobank

By Yiannis Papadoyiannis

Eurobank announced on Monday the increase of the bidding price by its strategic investors in its share capital increase, thereby confirming reports about strong investor interest.

The lender said that it has accepted a proposal by the investors for an increase from 0.30 euros to 0.31 euros of the highest price per share that they are committed to acquiring in new common shares in the context of the international share offering."

Sources from the bank say that the success of the 2.86-billion-euros increase will be significant and expressed their certainty that the entire share issue will be covered by private investors and overbooked.

Crucially the investors who have expressed their interest are of a particularly high profile as they include such long-term investment funds and institutional investors as Pimco, BlackRock, Blackstone, Wellington, JP Morgan etc.

The book for the increase is closing on Tuesday.
