The choice of citizens

Greek citizens do not want to see party candidates with stilted rhetoric in charge of local municipalities and regional authorities. Why do political leaders and parties find that so hard to believe? Exactly who do they listen to before making their decisions? Those representing partisan stuffiness or Greek society?

The opposition seems to be concerned solely with picking candidates who demonstrate a sincere anti-memorandum stance instead of those who are capable and worthy of the job. At the same time, the government seems afraid to go the extra mile to show people that the dilemma posed by Prime Minister Antonis Samaras in view of the European Parliament elections is real.

The silent, angry masses who believe in a Greece that can be stable and that can grow within Europe will make their own, responsible choices, both for the European Parliament and local government, no matter how difficult this might prove given certain wrong choices.
