Rebuild Greece’s image
A country’s good name is paramount. Unfortunately, Greece’s international image has been seriously tainted over the past few years and it will take many more to patch up the damage caused.
The scars are there for everyone to see. The number of visitors to the country is down and so are our exports following an early but short-lived surge.
Improving the image of our debt-wracked nation across the world will require a solid strategy aimed at promoting Greece abroad in the coming years.
The drive would be more effective if it engaged the private sector as well as diaspora Greeks.
Before anything else, though, we need to sort out the mess at home, strengthen political stability, and build a state that works.
For no amount of advertising campaigns can make up for the bad publicity caused by a nation that fails to enforce the law, promote creativity, and respect its international commitments.
