Punk-rock legend goes back to her roots in Athens performance

Patti Smith tapped into her roots as a poet and narrator at the Onassis Foundation’s Stegi in Athens on Thursday and Friday, delivering a spellbinding performance on the devastating impact of climate change on our planet.

Titled “Correspondences,” the audiovisual show represents a collaboration by the 77-year-old punk-rock legend and Soundwalk Collective, a contemporary sonic arts platform founded by French artist Stephan Crasneanscki and Italian producer Simone Merli, with visuals by Pedro Maia.
A project that has been evolving for the past 10 years and is still growing and traveling, “Correspondences” finds Smith plumbing the depths of her formidable array of talents to pay homage to the world we live in, to existence and to art.
