Tomorrow at the Herod Atticus…

Tomorrow at the Herod Atticus Theater at 11.30 a.m., the Athens Festival is set to open with a concert by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in works by Brahms, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and with piano soloist Daniel Barenboim. It is the 14th European Concert, an initiative by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and DaimlerChrysler in support of the ideal of the European Union. Once a year in a European capital, this concert is held and broadcast live around the world. This year, under the rock of the Acropolis, it is being held for the first time in Athens, in the Olympic year of 2004.
