Lebanese lunch and sale raises funds for worthy causes
This philanthropic event had a Lebanese air. Nicole Habib, wife of the Lebanese ambassador to Athens and Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA Hellas) president, organized a lunch and exhibition of traditional Lebanese products. MDA Hellas member Vana Zein opened up her home and garden in Vari for this first summer event. The smiling hostess greeted Greek and foreign women from the diplomatic corps who came to support the objective of the event. Proceeds will be divided equally between the Lebanese Red Cross and MDA Hellas. Lebanese Ambassador William Habib attended to express his gratitude personally to MDA Hellas president Vana Lavida and the board for the cooperation between the Greek and Lebanese communities. The handmade candlesticks, tablecloths and brightly painted narghiles went like hotcakes. Among those present were Chilean Ambassador Marcia Covarrubias, the American ambassador’s wife Bonnie Miller, the Russian ambassador’s wife Ludmila Vdovin, and local politicians and artists.
