Bazaars, sales offer ideas for festive gifts

As gift shopping turns into an obsession during the festive season, bazaars and sales offer welcome ideas. Below are a few of the events coming up this weekend. Following the success of the first two rounds, Bazart 2004 is back this week with a number of offers and not a few surprises. Tomorrow and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the M art Manolioudakis group of artists present their handmade, practical and decorative items. The charity sale will benefit the Elpida Association of Friends of Children with Cancer. (10 Pindarou, Kolonaki, tel 210.924.6600.) The Museum of Greek Folk Art presents its own offerings this weekend. Also part of the sale are a number of the museum’s own editions accompanied by a 20 percent discount. (7 Kidathinaion, Plaka, tel 210.322.9031. Both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Greek fashion brings its own touch to the current season, with a sample sale featuring the work of five forward-looking designers. Vasso Consola, Lena Papachristofillou, Erifilli Nikolopoulou, Pavlos Kyriakidis and Markellos Nyktas join forces tomorrow and Sunday to present clothes from past collections as well as samples from catwalk shows. All items will be offered at half-price, with a few pieces going even lower.
