The Kathimerini family celebrates the New Year

The whole family of Kathimerini, which includes the English Edition of Kathimerini, SKAI 100.4 and Melodia FM, gathered together to see the vassilopita, or New Year’s cake, cut into 620 pieces. The lucky coin went to Kathimerini. It was a euro with a silver pomegranate, to bring good luck in the coming year. The 626 smiling faces saw all five lottery tickets go – scandalously – to Kathimerini. It was a happy and collegial party on the fifth floor of the building, overlooking the sea. Kathimerini’s president, Aristides Alafouzos, cut the cake, flanked by Vice President Yiannis Alafouzos, publisher Themis Alafouzos, Managing Editor Antonis Karakousis, Consultant Editor Stamos Zoulas, Kathimerini English Edition Editor Nikos Konstandaras, SKAI News Editor Yiannis Koronaios, Melodia FM Director Odysseas Ioannou and the journalists and staff of all the companies, who welcomed Kathimerini’s winning the lucky coin in its new offices as a good omen.
