A full calendar of events at embassies as fall approaches

The end of September and early October is a busy time for the diplomatic round of national holidays, elections and other events, beginning with tomorrow’s election party with a live coverage of results in the Federal Republic of Germany, beginning at 4.30 p.m. in the garden of the ambassador’s residence. This will also be the venue for Germany Unification Day celebrations on Monday, October 3. The Austrian Ambassador Herbert Kroll has issued an invitation for a concert by the Amadeus Brass Quintet from Vienna, and a buffet dinner on Tuesday, September 20, in view of Mozart Year, 2006. Works by Mozart, Josef Strauss, Johann Strauss the younger and Franz Lehar will be played. This coming Friday, September 23, the ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia is holding a reception to mark the country’s 60th Independence Day at the Grand Chalet Hotel in Kifissia-Politia. The Republic of Korea’s Ambassador Hae Moon Chung has issued invitations for the celebration of his country’s National Foundation Day at the Divani Caravel Hotel on Tuesday, October 4, from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m.
