Diplomatic dinner with a great view

The view from the St George Lycabettus Hotel’s Grand Balcon restaurant is magical, particularly at night when the Acropolis is floodlit, and is a popular meeting place for dinner. This week, internationally famous artist Nicholas Egon gathered together five ambassadors who are active in cultural events, of which there are a great many at this time of year, particularly at the Benaki Museum. The ambassadors: of Hungary, Csaba Korosi; Austria, Herbert Krooll; Britain, Simon Gass and Germany, Wolfgang Schultheiss, and their wives, along with Camerata Orchestra Maestro Christopher Warren Green, Leopoldine Grafin von Ingelheim, the wife of Greek Ambassador Yiannis Theofanopoulos, Nada Stefanou Geroulanou and the international photographer Calliope. Next year, the Benaki is to exhibit Egon’s paintings of «Landscapes of Greece,» from April 24 to May 24, 2007.
