Cartoons on show for the summer
Cartoonists whose creations regularly feature in Athenian newspapers and magazines have sent off their work to the Ionian island of Lefkada for the summer holiday season. An exhibition set up in the main town of the island aims to satirically stimulate the thoughts of viewers on three timely issues: the environment, tourism, and vacations. The exhibition, organized by the Greek Catoonists’ Club in association with the Lefkada Municipality’s Cultural Center, will be inaugurated today at 8 p.m. It is to run through August 15. The list of participating artists includes celebrated cartoonists Ilias Makris of Kathimerini, Costas Vlachos, Costas Mitropoulos, Stavropoulos (Stathis), Tassos Anastassiou, Costas Grogoriadis, Spyros Ornerakis, Cypriot Sotos Voskaridis as well as Nikos Gazis, who hails from Lefkada.
