Dancer Ogalla at Half Note
Juan Ogalla first became widely known as a dancing partner to flamenco royalty Christina Hoyos when the Spanish dancer was a member of Hoyos’s dance company from 1993 to 2000. There are those who might even remember the artist from his previous appearances in Athens, at the Half Note Jazz Club. The Spaniard is presently back at the Mets venue through Thursday. Ogalla’s very first collaboration with Hoyos dates back to the closing ceremony of the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992. Meanwhile, as an independent dancer his projects have been widely acclaimed around the world. Through elaborate research and a serious approach to traditional flamenco, Ogalla’s artistic expression continues to be an exciting work in progress.
