Get a chance to win a trip to Japan. Greeks aged 18-35 are invited to enter a competition run by the Japanese Embassy. It’s easy – just write 500-600 words in English on one of the following subjects: What kind of role should the Japanese government play in order to promote Japanese popular culture (including its cuisine) more widely in other countries? What can you do or do you wish to do in order to boost political/cultural /economic exchanges between Japan and Greece? Name one Japanese you wish to meet in person and explain why. Journalist Pavlos Tsimas will present the 2008 awards Monday, May 12, in a ceremony followed by a cocktail hour. Book festival Meetings with Greek writers, concerts, theater events and interactive exhibits are among the attractions at the League of Athens Publishers’ 31st book festival.
