Veteran rockers Def Leppard in first-time live concert in Greece

Eighties rock icons Def Leppard are set to bring their own brand of hysteria to the Karaiskaki Stadium in Neo Faliron tonight. Since the announcement that the group’s summer tour included a stop in Athens, die-hard fans have no doubt been working up an appetite for the band’s heavy metal and rock hit list. In a recent interview, guitarist Phil Collen assured local fans that the concert will feature all of the old favorites, in addition to new songs from their recent album «Songs From the Sparkle House» – including the hit new song «Nine Lives.» Tonight’s concert offers the opportunity to see how the 30-year-old band – one of only five groups to have sold over 10 million records, along with the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Van Halen – has evolved. The gig marks the first time the Sheffield band goes on stage in Greece. They will share the stage with yet another landmark rock group, Whitesnake, who have already appeared in Greece.
