Drama translation prize to be awarded by Dionysus Theater Workshop and EKEMEL

Translations of foreign plays into Greek that have been performed or will be performed on the Greek stage between October 2007 and September 2008 are eligible for an award. Translations of ancient drama are excluded. The Dionysus Theater Workshop of Nea Orestiada and the European Translation Center (EKEMEL) are offering a prize of 3,000 euros to the winning entry. Theater groups, translators and publishers are invited to submit translations (five copies, typed or in book form) along with five copies of the work in the original language by July 31 to EKEMEL (2 Lykavittos & Academias, 106 71, Athens). Savvas Patsalidis, professor of theater studies at Aristotle University will head the jury, which includes Xenia Kalogeropoulou (actor, translator, director and author), Maria Efstathiadi (writer and translator) and Christoforos Haralambakis (professor of linguistics at Athens University).
