The American College of Greece welcomes a new exhibition hall

The American College of Greece recently inaugurated its ACG Art Gallery, a new exhibition hall at its Aghia Paraskevi premises. The new venue opened with the exhibition «Silent Dialogues: Multimedia Portraits Throughout Time,» featuring works from the college’s collection. «Silent Dialogues» presents 265 portraits by artists of different periods, that cover all artforms from painting to photography and from electronic sculpture to installations. It has been curated by the college’s art curator, Megakles Rogakos, who has noted that «portraiture is a central subject matter in art and happens to be one of the ACG art collection’s strengths.» Music compositions by Thodoris Abatzis, created especially for the occasion, accompany the exhibition. Participating artists include Artemis Alcalay, Christos Antonaropoulos, Eileen Botsford, Chronis Botsoglou, Alekos Fassianos, Mark Hadjipateras, Maria Mylona-Kyriakidi, Alex Mylona, Andreas Voussouras, Platon Rivellis, Theodoros and others. The display is part of the events celebrating Dr David G. Horner becoming ACG president and former president Dr John S. Bailey’s appointment as chancellor. It will run to June 30.
