Dance and drama meet at the Ilissia-Volanaki

Whether you’re into dance or just looking to enjoy an exhilarating performance, head to the Ilissia-Volanaki Theater. That’s where Reni Pittaki and Costas Kappas form a singular couple on stage, two people who meet up for dance lessons. Michael is a young professional dancer who goes to Lilly’s home to teach her the waltz, swing, Charleston, flamenco, rock’n’roll and tango moves. «Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks» is the title of the play penned by Richard Alfieri, which follows the difficult path of communication between two very different characters. There are misunderstandings, distrust and small lies invented in order not to open up to the other person. Alfieri’s play ultimately becomes an ode to the joys of life and the need for companionship. Based on a translation by Antonis Galeos and adapted by Petros Zoulias and Pittaki, the play is directed by Zoulias with set and costume design by Anastassia Arsenis, lighting by Andreas Bellis and choreographies by Maro Marmarinou.
