Mini-fest provides treat for dance fans

«Arc for Dance 2009» features three choreographies by Salva Sanchis, Ted Stoffer and Alexandra Waierstall. The mini dance festival is taking place for the second year running at the Dipylon Theater, tonight to Saturday. Sanchis will present «Objects in Athens Are Closer Than They Appear,» a piece exploring the contrast between what is visible and what exists in reality. This year’s Arc artist in residence, American choreographer Ted Stoffer, explores the body as if it were an inner landscape. Waierstall’s «Terminus» is the third part of a choreography focusing on the creation of short dance diaries, titled «A Human Study.» Two days later, in the same neighborhood, contemporary Greek dance will fill the Kratiras dance company’s home venue. This weekend and the next, the Syn+Ergasia dance theater company will stage «Osidori,» a performance inspired by the life and work of Lefkadios Hern.
