Fashion events for the weekend

Two fashionable encounters are taking place in Athens this weekend. The «Tell a Story» trade fair brings together collections by 40 designers hailing from Greece, Cyprus, France, Portugal, Sweden and the Netherlands. While the trade show gives a chance to up-and-coming as well as more established designers, to showcase their take on fall/winter 2009-10 – ranging from garments to accessories and objects – the in situ Tell a Story shop will further offer visitors an opportunity to purchase pieces from previous collections. Participating designers in the garment department include Two in a Gondola, Brokequeens, Ioli Michalo-poulou, Alexia Kirmitsi, One Love Project and DESIGNEReals. Tell a Story, which opened last night featuring live DJ sets, screenings and more, is currently taking place at the Bios cultural center (84 Pireos) Opening hours from today to Sunday are 2 to 10 p.m. For more information, log on www.bios.gr. Meanwhile, footwear and accessories designer Vassilis Zoulias is organizing a «Cheap and Chic» party-bazaar where loyal followers – and newcomers – will no doubt come across bargain-priced signature Zoulias items. The sale takes place at the designer’s Old Athens boutique at 30 Academias (open today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
