Greek judge gets high distinction from Luxembourg
The only Greek who has served as a prosecutor-general for the European Court of Justice has received a high distinction from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. George Cosmas was awarded the Grand Croix of the Order of Merit from the State of Luxembourg in recognition of his work during his six-year term. Ambassador Fernand Kartheizer presented the award at a special ceremony at the embassy in Filothei. With European Union enlargement, there will not be another Greek prosecutor-general for several decades.
