Flying over the Abyss | Thessaloniki | November 7 – February 29

On Saturday, November 7, the Contemporary Art Center of the State Museum of Contemporary in Thessaloniki will open “Flying over the Abyss,” an exhibition of works by local and international artists influenced and inspired by “Ascesis: The Saviors of Gods,” a series of spiritual exercises penned by Nikos Kazantzakis. The acclaimed Cretan author’s original manuscript will also go on display. Participating artists include Marina Abramovic, Alexis Akrithakis, Lynda Benglis, Jenny Holzer and Costas Tsoclis. The show runs through February 29, 2016. Opening hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
