Antonis Kotides, professor of history and art at Thessaloniki’s Aristotle University, is scheduled to deliver a series of lectures on the theme of “Art as the Conscience of Society” at the Benaki Museum in Athens. The lectures focus on the influence of art in the development of society's social and political conscience since the early 20th century. The first lecture, titled “Forerunners and Revolutionary Pursuits of the Historical Avant-Garde,” takes place on Saturday, January 9. Admission is free of charge. A discussion will follow each lecture. The lectures are in Greek.
