Andrei Rublev | Athens | To September

Acclaimed Russian religious painter Andrei Rublev’s Ascension icon, painted in 1408, is currently on display at the Byzantine & Christian Museum in Athens. The work is on loan from Moscow’s State Tretyakov Gallery and will remain on display through September. More works from the Moscow museum, as well as St Petersburg’s Hermitage Museum, will go on display at the Athens museum in the fall as part of the “Russia in Greece and Greece in Russia” year. Opening hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
