TANKERS Firmer conditions on Aframax in the Med. while weaker on Suezmax in the same area. – Continent is strengthening further, with more cargoes to be fixed. – Caribs weaker with less demand and with latest fixtures for 70,000 tons of cargo liftings at W/S 170. – Nothing fresh to be reported for W. Africa on Suezmax. – In the Med., Karran has fixed M/T «Kalymnos» for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading December 9 out of Black Sea, discharging Med., at W/S 130, while Sibneft for same cargo has fixed M/T «Tamyra,» loading December 6 Novorossisk, discharging Med., at W/S 135. – In Caribs, Chevtex has fixed M/T «Astro Arcturus» for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading November 30 ECM, discharging USG, at W/S 180, while Orion has fixed M/T «Mersey Spirit» for same cargo, loading December 7 CBS, discharging USG, at W/S 170. DRY CARGO Panamax market in the Atlantic remains strong with an increase of cargoes from US Gulf for transatlantic discharge and a step-up in business from South America. – Capers in the area are also enjoying high freight levels. Full rate was paid by WU Han for Felicia tonnage of 150,000 tons, loading Tubarao December 15-29, to Beilun, at USD 11.10 per ton. – On Panamaxes on T/C periods, Bottiglieri has fixed M/V «Marigo P,» built 2001, 73,800 dwt, delivery Cape Passero November 25-28, for 3/5 months, redelivery Atlantic, at USD 10,500 daily. In Far East, PCL has fixed M/V «Konkar Maroula,» built 1997, 72,126 dwt, delivery Qingdao December 1-10, for same period redelivery worldwide, USD 10,500 as well. – On grain cargoes, Torm tonnage of 54,000 tons, loading US Gulf, discharging Japan, was fixed at 24.25 USD per ton. – On smaller sizes, Bunge has fixed M/V «Hidir Selek,» built 1983, 49,000 dwt, delivery US Gulf PPT, redelivery E. Med., at 11,250 USD daily, while Bulk Shipping has fixed M/V «Med Integrity,» built 1984, 43,381 dwt, delivery Maracaibo December 3-5, redelivery Redcar, at 12,500 USD per day.
