McDonald?s in advanced talks with investor for Greece

McDonald?s Corp is in advanced talks with a strategic investor to help expand its Greek operations, a source close to the discussions said on Thursday.

?Talks are continuing and they are at an advanced stage,? the source told Kathimerini English Edition, without providing further details.

In January, the US-based fast food chain announced that it has signed an initial agreement with a potential strategic investor that will offer it the chance to maximise benefits from its investment in Greece, from existing branches and the creation of new ones.

McDonald’s has a 31 branch network in the Meditteranean country, according to its website.

On Wednesday, business website euro2day.gr reported that McDonald’s is in talks to team up with Malta?s Premier Capital in Greece.

Premier Capital, which holds the McDonald?s development rights for Malta, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, would take control of the McDonald?s operations in Greece, the website reported.
