Rokas operates 38 MW wind park near Nafplio

Spanish renewable energy company Iberdrola Renovables said that its Greek subsidiary Rokas has started operating a 38 MW wind park in Arachnaio, close to Nafplio in the north east of the Peloponnese.

The new facility boost?s Roka?s installed capacity to 255.3 MW in Greece across 17 wind farms giving the company a market share of close to 20 percent, Iberdrola said in a statement.

?The start up of this wind park has entailed a significant improvement to the power grid in the Peloponnese peninsula as the new substation and the upgrade work performed on some of the medium-voltage lines have reinforced the system,? it said.

The wind farm?s annual output is equivalent to the power used by over 20,000 homes, displacing the emission of 77,200 tonnes of CO2 per year, it added.
