Appetite for fast food diminishes in crisis

With disposable incomes shrinking due to Greece?s debt crisis, the country?s fast-food industry saw turnover levels contract in the last two years, according to research group ICAP.

Greece?s fast-food industry, which expanded at an average annual rate of 15.2 percent between 1992 and 2008, is dominated by burgers, which have a 37 percent market share.

Next on the list come sandwiches and pizzas. Souvlaki holds the fourth-largest share of the domestic fast-food industry.
