Greek stocks post fresh losses

National Bank?s stock dropped below its nominal value of 5 euros (ending at 4.98 euros), a significant landmark for the blue chip with the highest capitalization on the Greek bourse, as the main index continued its decline on Thursday.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 1,378.05 points, declining by 0.69 percent from Wednesday?s close at 1,387.59 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index dropped by 0.83 percent to end at 618.35 points. Nevertheless, the small-cap FTSE/ATHEX 80 index outperformed once again, posting gains of 1.32 percent.

In total, 57 stocks moved up, 75 went down and 47 remained unchanged. Hellenic Fish Farming had the biggest rise for the second day in succession, with gains of 16.67 percent, while Unibios led the losers, shedding 14.29 percent.

Turnover came to just 70 million euros, down from 86.3 million on Tuesday.
