Eyes now on bourse reaction

The Greek bourse greeted the news from the eurozone summit last Thursday with relief, reversing losses registered earlier in the week, but its reaction on Monday, now that the dust has settled, will be even more interesting.

The relief was based on the fact that the market had expected the bond haircut to exceed the 50 percent eventually agreed to in Brussels, and on the finance minister?s pledge that the government?s priority will be to find a scheme for the banks? recapitalization by the state.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index starts the new week at 811.11 points, having risen 3.67 percent from the previous week?s closing figure. The FTSE/ATHEX 20 blue chip index added 2.13 percent over the course of last week.

Altec was last week?s biggest earner, with gains of 86.67 percent, while Alapis lost 57.84 percent.
