Bourse shows little action after PSI effect wears off

A quiet session on the local bourse on Tuesday showed that the mood in the market has returned to the pre-debt swap mode of little action and plenty of concern for the future of the country?s finances.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended the day at 734.88 points, inching up just 0.13 percent from Monday?s closing level of 733.89 points.

The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index added 0.07 percent to close at 296.02 points.

Alpha Bank outperformed with gains of 5.19 percent, while Hellenic Postbank contracted by 4.23 percent.

In total, 81 stocks registered gains, 64 posted losses and 27 remained unchanged.

Turnover amounted to 46.3 million euros, down from 50.1 million on Monday.

The bourse has completed 22 sessions in a row with daily volumes below 100 million.
