GSEE chief to meet Angela Merkel
Yiannis Panagopoulos, head of the General Confederation of Greek Labor (GSEE), will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on Thursday, according to an e-mailed statement on Wednesday from Athens-based GSEE.
Panagopoulos, who will travel to Berlin at the invitation of Germany?s DGB trade union federation, will also meet with other lawmakers and officials including leader of the opposition Social Democrats party, Frank-Walter Steinmeir, to discuss the ?ineffectiveness? of austerity measures and Greece?s recession, GSEE said.
