Investors seem increasingly indifferent to local bourse

Mid-caps trading on the Athens bourse posted a small rise at the start of the week but nowhere near enough to offset the drops suffered by blue chips and small-caps during a particularly quiet session.

The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index lost 1.10 percent to close at 306.82 points, mid-caps added 0.20 percent.

Banks were hit hard again, with Eurobank EFG falling 9.09 percent and Piraeus declining by 8.59 percent. OTE telecom outperformed with gains of 4.26 percent.

In total, 51 stocks registered gains, 85 posted losses and 24 remained unchanged. Turnover amounted to 29.4 million euros, up from a record low of 22.5 million on Friday.
