Road tax gets easier to pay

There will be no more endless queues at tax offices for the payment of road tax since the annual levy imposed on vehicle owners will be paid without the issue of a notice from the authorities and without a sticker being provided as proof of payment.

As of next Wednesday, vehicle owners will be able to pay their road tax online. They will be able to either print their road tax form using the online TAXISnet system, then use this to pay at banks, post offices or tax offices, or they can pay online via web banking.

The receipt they will get will serve as proof of payment, while police cars will have online access to the ministry?s database to be able to see which cars, trucks or motorbikes have had their road tax paid.
