Finance Ministry extends deadline for new revenues chief post until Friday

The government has extended until the end of the week for applicants to submit their details for the new position of revenues chief.

The deadline for applications for the job of general secretary for revenues at the Finance Ministry was on Tuesday but has now been extended until Friday.

Ministry sources said the extension reflected the greater than expected interest that has been shown for the position.

The new post has been created as part of the government’s efforts to clamp down on tax evasion and raise revenues. The successful applicant will hold the position for five years.
