Sprider Stores files for bankruptcy

Listed Greek company Sprider Stores filed for protection from its creditors under Article 99 of the Bankruptcy Code on Wednesday.

An Athens prosecutor recently filed charges against the governing board of the apparel company for being allegedly responsible for a fire that destroyed the headquarters and storage facilities of the company located in Anthoussa, eastern Attica, last year, in order to cash in 16 million euros from the insurance.
