Verdict on merger of Aegean with Olympic is delayed
The competition department of the European Commission has postponed its decision regarding the request by Aegean Airlines for the acquisition of Olympic Air until the second half of the year, according to Reuters.
Brussels will begin an in-depth investigation that will delay the issuing of its verdict originally set for April 23.
The Commission is concerned about the risk of monopolistic practices in the domestic market in case the two companies become one.
