Two members of Cyprus Central Bank governing council resign

Two members of the Cyprus Central Bank governing council have resigned amid complaints that they were being ignored, the island’s state broadcaster RIK reported on Friday.

According to RIK, Haris Achniotis and Andreas Matsis sent a letter to President Nicos Anastasiades in which they said that the bank’s seven-member governing council had only a «decorative» purpose and was not being consulted.
