German FinMin: troika report on Greece will be positive

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble expressed his conviction on Friday that the report expected to be presented to him and his peers at a Eurogroup summit on Monday would be “positive.”

Schaeuble noted that the Greek government has achieved “significant progress» with its economic reforms, adding that the country was “on the road to success.”

Schaeuble brushed away concerns that a simmering crisis in the eurozone would resurge due to political upheaval in Portugal and pressure on Greece, noting that the single currency can resist the impact of such situations in individual countries.

The German chancellor is due to pay an official visit to Athens on July 18.
