Seven bids short-listed for regional airports tender

Only seven investment schemes will continue to the second stage of the tender for the operation of the country’s regional airports, state privatization fund TAIPED announced on Tuesday, from the 11 companies and consortiums that had expressed an interest during the first stage.

It is believed that Russian firm Novaport Development, the German-Turkish consortium of Global Liman Isletmeleti-Flughafen Munchen, Turkey’s TAV and Engelinvest Israel Ltd have been eliminated.

As a result, the seven companies and consortiums to table binding offers in the tender for the operation of the two groups of seven to 10 airports each will reportedly be the following: Zurich Airport-J&P Avax, Athens International Airport, Fraport-Copelouzos, Aeroports de la Cote d’Azur, Corporacion America-METKA, Vinci-Ellaktor, and Advent.

TAIPED sources expressed the fund’s satisfaction with the number and quality of bidders, as they possess the experience required.
