Producer price index in industry shows slight increase in April

The Producer Price Index in Industry (PPI) recorded an increase of 0.4 percent in April 2014 compared to the same month a year earlier, according to figures released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on Friday.

The index had recorded a decrease of 2.7 percent in April 2013.

The report also pointed to the PPI recording an increase of 1.1 percent in April 2014 compared to March 2014.

The same index had recorded a decrease of 1.3 percent in April 2013 against March 2013.

The 12-month average index from May 2013 to April 2014 decreased by 1.1 percent compared to the previous 12 months.

The previous year the 12-month average index had increased by 2.3 percent.
