Greece’s Nova exceeds 500,000-subscriber milestone
Greece’s leading pay TV platform Nova announced on Thursday it had exceeded the 500,000-subscriber milestone, having added nearly 110,000 in the last year alone.
Its TV, broadband Internet and phone package, marketed as Nova 3play, has seen its base, turnover and earnings grow, at the same time as its main rival, OTE TV, also enjoyed a rise in subscription numbers, to an estimated 320,000 customers today.
Furthermore its innovative Nova Go service allows subscribers to access its channels and programs from tablets, PCs and smartphones, as well as satellite TV.
The penetration of pay TV in Greece has exceeded 20 percent of households as home entertainment proved to be an affordable substitute for going out at the height of the financial crisis.
