Hoteliers cautious about next tourism season

The first signs for the next tourism season in Greece are particularly positive, given the bookings to date from certain major markets, statements by tour operator officials and airlines’ schedules, a Hellenic Hoteliers Federation conference heard over the weekend in Thessaloniki.

However the heads of local hoteliers associations agreed that it is still too early to make a safe estimate about next season given that external factors can affect demand.

Federation chief Yiannis Retsos stressed the need for the implementation of interventions to boost less popular destinations.
