Tourism bookings from Russia drop by half

Tourism bookings from Russia this season have so far shown a massive yearly decline of 50 to 60 percent at Greece’s popular destinations, according to the president of the Association of Hellenic Tourism Enterprises (SETE), Andreas Andreadis.

The SETE chief expects the final drop to amount to 20-30 percent as between 900,000 and 1 million Russians are anticipated compared to 1.25 million last year.

Alternate Economy Minister Elena Kountoura, responsible for tourism, is in Russia for the opening of the Moscow International Travel and Tourism exhibition on Wednesday.
