Air arrivals advance almost 6 pct in first nine months

Arrivals from abroad at all Greek airports in the first nine months of the year posted an increase of 5.9 percent on annual basis, reaching up to 15.1 million, against 14.3 million in the January-September 2014 period, according to the latest figures from the Civil Aviation Authority.

In September alone the growth rate was smaller, as air arrivals rose by 3.8 percent from September 2014 to clear 2.3 million.

Data showed a significant increase in the number of arrivals from all key tourism markets, including Great Britain, Germany and the United States. However, visitors from Russia declined significantly.
